Descriptions:
Komárek (1992): Filamentous; filaments relatively short, solitary, composed from cylindrical trichomes, slightly narrowed to the ends, not constricted at the cross walls, and wide, colourless sheaths, usually irregularly swollen and wavy on the surface; filaments grow endophytically within sheaths of other filamentous cyanophytes or epiphytically, creeping on their surface. Cells more or less isodiametrical or slightly longer or shorter than wide, end cells conical-rounded.
