| Type species: Homoeoptyche repensSkuja 1944. - Monospecific genus. |
Descriptions:
Komárek (1992):Thallous; thallus composed from haevily pseudodichotomously ramified, heteropomr, more or less creeping fimments. Trichomes uniserial, torulous, with numerous short true branches, not morphologically diversified from main trichomes (V- and T- type of branching); sheaths firm, thin, limited, waved at the surface, colourless, not lamellated, not gelatinizing, only at the end (around hormogonia) slightly lamellated and telescopic; trichomes and branches from dense agglomerations, but not confluent by sheath sides. Cells irregularly subspherical or barrel-shaped, connected in trichomes by pit-connections. Heterocytes and akinetes not observed.

Reproduction strategies, life cycles, cell division:
Komárek (1992): Cells divide cross-wise, sometimes a little oblique and irregular, or length-wise before branching. At the ends of branches develop terminal hormogonia, liberating from sheaths through the apical opening. Hormogonia uniserial, composed from short cells, intensely constricted at cross walls.
