| Type species: Baradlaia speluncaecola Palik 1960. |
Descriptions:
Komárek (1992): Filamentous; filaments simple, straight or waved, with true branching, enveloped by a calcified sheath (envelope), solitary or in free clusters, creeping on the substrate. Trichomes uniserial, cylindrical, of the same width along the whole length, narrow, without constrictions at cross walls; true branching lateral (usually unilateral); type of branching: T-type. Cells cylindrical, longer than wide, end cells cylindrical and rounded at the apex. Heterocytes lateral or at the end of short, l-celled or several-celled branches, which are morphologically identical with main trichomes; they occur rarely in an intercalar position. Akinetes not known. |
